Increasingly many states are moving from over the counter (OTC) tags to a draw/lottery tag system. This can make planning your next hunt an early and a difficult task. We want to make sure that you never miss a deadline again!  We want to give you the most update date information so check back with us to see if there have been any updates.

  •  Preference point is awarded if you are unsuccessful in drawing your first-choice hunt code or if you apply for a preference point hunt code as your first choice.

  •  You can get two preference points each license year for turkey if you submit an application for each season.

  •  Modified Preference Point system - You may earn one preference point per year, per species, as follows: Deer – earn one preference point if you apply for the premium deer tag drawing but are not drawn for your first choice premium tag. Elk, pronghorn and bighorn sheep – earn one preference point for each species you apply for and was not drawn for the tag.

  •  A Preference Point can be purchase until June 2nd, if you don't apply for a species.
