Elk hunting is a passion of mine, and I have tried many products over the years. Here are a few items that I used on every trip.

King’s Camo XKG Covert Hoodie

For those of you who are looking for a lightweight, breathable, and highly packable hooded jacket that’s also extremely durable and flexible, this is the one for you. Made with a durable and flexible nylon shell, the XKG Covert Hoodie is lined with soft brushed polyester to ensure maximum comfort and warmth. Its camo print makes it perfect for open-country hunting and inconspicuous in wooded environments.

The King’s Camo XKG Covert Hoodie is made of durable polyester, with a breathable lining and an attached hood. This lightweight, warm hooded sweatshirt is perfect for elk hunting because it offers plenty of warmth without being too bulky or heavy. It can also be used in other situations where you’ll be out in the cold, like ice fishing or snowmobiling.

Athlon Optics Geo 2 HD 10×42

Athlon Optics Geo 2 HD 10×42 binoculars are waterproof and fog proof, with HD glass lens and multi-coated optics for a wide field of view. Constructed from lightweight yet rugged materials, this pair of binoculars includes a carrying case and neck strap.

These binoculars are necessary for any serious hunter, especially those looking to hunt elk! They offer bright, high-quality optics that help you spot your target from far away, so you can identify your prey and put on the proper stalk. They are applicable not only during elk season but can also be used for birdwatching or deer hunting!

Athlon Optics also offers an unconditional lifetime warranty on all Athlon Optics products (unless otherwise stated).

Teton Sports LEEF Ultralight Mummy Sleeping Bag

The Teton Sports LEEF Ultralight Mummy Sleeping Bag is a very lightweight and compactable sleeping bag that we can carry on our backpacking trips. This 3.3-pound bag has a 2-way zipper, taffeta lining, and fiberfill insulation to keep you warm at night. It comes with a stuff sack for storage or compression so that you can store it during long hikes while hunting.

Your sleeping bag is perhaps one of the most critical pieces of gear that you carry on your back while out hunting. You will spend a lot of time inside this thing, so ensure that it provides enough insulation against cold temperatures (and possibly even rain). This mummy-style bag features two zippers, one at either end, making getting in and out more accessible than ever! The ten-year warranty offers peace of mind if anything happens to your sleeping bag during use!

Outdoor Edge WildLite Knife Kit

This is a great knife kit for backcountry hunters. It’s lightweight and compact, with a stainless-steel blade that’s easy to clean. The WildLite has a lifetime warranty.

The lightweight set comes with three razor-sharp knives that weigh only 20 ounces altogether. In addition, the set comes with a knife sharpener to keep those blades in tip-top shape as you field dress or butcher your elk.

The Cape, Skin, and Bone blades each have a rubberized handle that makes it easy to handle and keep a continuous grip. Knives with this simple but durable design should be in everyone’s backpack.

The important thing is that you have the right equipment when elk hunting. It doesn’t matter if it’s a backpack, tent, or rifle. These items can make your trip easier to manage while also helping you be better prepared for the hunt!

We suggest using this gear because it is what we use. We don’t currently get any revenue from endorsing this gear unless the item is listed on our store.
